i promised my son I would take him to the park last week, and for those that have young children know that they seem to have memories similar to those of elephants, no promise made by a parent is ever forgotten in the mind of a child.
he reminded me of my promise, and I had a feeling he would not rest until I did as he was asking, and so we packed up and headed out on our way. When we arrived the park was full with many other parents standing around watching their children run lose. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter and several imaginative stories told in small voices. While I was trying to keep an eye on my little man, another little voice came from below ” you should get off the boat quick, its gonna explode” i looked down to see a little boy with eyes full of excitement and imagination, it was then that i realized that if only we took the time to see the world through the eyes of a child perhaps life would seem lighter, more positive, easier to conquer…
even though at the time, the last thing I wanted to do was spend the day at the park, i’m happy i did. My little man and I spent an amazing day, exploring, finding lost pirate treasures, telling stories, digging in the sand and just feeling the spring breeze on our faces. A day I would not trade for anything…

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about. ~Angela Schwindt
